Protecting the Environment

The William G. Stowe Foundation supports the stewardship of land and water through environmental education and community enrichment. The William G. Stowe Foundation is dedicated to educating and helping people of all ages identify the tools and strategies needed to protect water and other natural resources.

Jordan Weber’s Water Curia

The William G Stowe Foundation plans to bring internationally renowned artist Jordan Weber’s Water Curia, a 20-foot-tall circular pavilion, to life in Des Moines Water Works Park in 2024. Water Curia will add to Des Moines’s already impressive collection of outdoor art and will double as an outdoor classroom.

Where the outdoors and education converge

The William G. Stowe Foundation is focused on providing youth and adults alike with the opportunity to engage with water in new and innovative ways, spurring imagination, growth, curiosity, and a renewed connection to water in our everyday lives.

The William G. Stowe Foundation, like the man himself, is unwilling to allow today’s reality to be the master of tomorrow’s possibilities.
